Bottom line the only difference between mixing your shakes with milk or water is the nutritional info of the milk itself. That’s it!
If you factor in the nutritional info into your overall diet you can make it work either way. Personally I just mix my shakes with water because I like it and it’s quick and convenient. But if you prefer the thicker creamy texture that milk adds than go for it, mix your shakes with milk. It basically comes down to personal preference.
Obviously there will be less calories, fat, and sugar (ie. lactose) if you skip the milk and just use water. So this may be more ideal when cutting. However, if you are bulking than mixing with milk will help add some extra calories to your protein shake.
